I've used 10w40 semi synthetic in mine for years following the bottom end 'mod' with good stable oil pressure :thumbleft:
I did at one point try 5w-30 semi synthetic made by the same manufacturer but I didn't like the drop in oil pressure of 8-10 psi  at idle and high revs :!:
I think most on here with YD25 D22/23's would agree that 10w-40 semi is the way to go :thumbright:

thanks for the replys, imn getting more and more concerned about this bottom end mod, people have mentioned it before but i have kind of not realised what it was. can someone tell me what the bottom end mod actually is and if there is any way i can find out if mines had this done already as id rather see to it now than let it go wrong. cheers

Have a good read and all will be explained. Some engines were replaced by Nissan on an extended warranty due to the problem, however they fitted exactly the same units suffering the same issues  so the replacements failed  but by that time all warranty had expired and Nissan couldn't give a :censored:
There's no real way of knowing if your's has had this mod other than any documentation that came with the vehicle :(
I'm sure if it had been carried out, the seller would have made it known to you as it's a premium adding value to the truck :thumbleft:
